LIBERTY'S PRAYER
REQUEST, DECEMBER 1999:My 80-year old father, Bill Savercool, is unsaved and quite ill
(heart failure). He believes in God, but does not believe yet that Jesus has any power to
save, forgive, or heal. Please help me pray for his salvation, his peace of mind, and for
the will of God for his life. Many, many thanks from--Liberty Savard
UPDATE ON LIBERTY'S
FATHER, MARCH 17, 2000!
Many, many, many thanks to all of you around the world who have e-mailed
me to tell me you were praying for my very ill father and his refusal to acknowledge
Christ, although he said he believed in God. I have been contacted regularly by some of
you asking for updates, if any. What a blessing! Well, here is the UPDATE to end
all updates.
On March 11th,
2000 (after I had been visiting with my father) I felt impressed to return to my father's room
at the skilled nursing home where he has been staying for a few weeks and ask him,
"Has Jesus been in here to talk with you?" He looked at me funny and said,
"No." I replied, "Well, He's going to," and then walked out and left.
Then last Wednesday, March 17th,
an administrator of the care home told my mother that my father was a bit of a legend in
the facility. She said, "He's not always very cooperative and can be a little
difficult, you know." My mother agreed. The administrator, a Christian named
Michelle, continued talking, "I went into his room today and asked him if he was a
Catholic or a Protestant." He said, "I don't think that's any of your
business." So Michelle said, "Well, if you got really sick and needed someone to
visit and pray for you, we just wanted to know if we should call for a priest or a
minister."
She said my father looked her
right in the eye and said adamantly, "I AM A CHRISTIAN! I BELIEVE IN JESUS
CHRIST! All right?" My mother, in the understatement of the year, said that night to me, "I
just thought you might be interested in knowing this."
This is so very special to me,
as my father did not just reply affirmatively to someone's question about his relationship
with Christ, he spoke it freely without prompting. Out of the abundance of the heart, the
mouth speaks! Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your prayers. I
just visited my father two days ago and he is stronger, healthier, more clear in his
thinking, and even nicer than he's been in months. I ask that you would remember him in
prayer that he will know great peace and blessing in his relationship with Jesus. What a
testimony to the rest of my family. You see, when people pray in right agreement for God's
will to be done, using the binding and loosing principles, things happen. God is so good.
Love to you all, Rev. Liberty Savard
JANUARY
2001 UPDATE:
My father is staying quite active, riding a lawn mower around nearly two acres of yard, burning leaves, pruning, and caring for his "ranch" as he calls it. His health is much improved, but he is now struggling with much fear over my mother's condition.
I'm believing that if God would do such a miracle for my father, then He will do another miracle for my mother! If you are a first time prayer requester, we invite you to check out the
