Requirements for
LSM
ONLINE COURSES
Connection:
These courses will function best on a Broadband or DSL
connection. The courses will also function within the
capability of dialup connections, but the page loading time may be
slower (particularly on pages containing audio or video clips).
Operating System:
Windows 95/98/ME/MT/2000/XP, or Macintosh with Virtual
PC, XP Edition.
Browser:
Internet Explorer version 5.5 and above or Netscape
Navigator version 7.0 and above
or Mozilla Firefox.
Browser security must be enabled
to allow active content to run and to accept "cookies."
These settings are accessed through your browser's toolbar
(Tools/Internet Options/General Tab/Temporary File Settings).
Javascript must also be enabled
in your browser, which is the normal default setting for most
browsers. This setting is also accessed through the toolbar of
your browser. (Tools/Internet Options/Advanced Tab/Java).

Other:
Your computer must have a sound card in order to hear the
audio teaching portion of the courses. You will need to have an
e-mail client on your computer to send your Journal entries,
Tests, and other correspondence to LSM.
Popup blockers and
Firewalls, either on your own system or through your Internet
Service Provider, can cause interference with the page downloads
and functionality. You may have to disable these while working in
the LSM course. Upon leaving the course, be sure to enable these
applications again.
CD-Rom version of the
courses (when available)
will run on any Windows computer with Windows 95/98/ME/NT/XP
operating system, a CD-ROM drive, and the plugins above.
