Introduction
This book has been written in response to the American people who are working to go on with their lives in as normal a manner as possible following the tragic terrorist attack on America on September 11, 2001. Never before has America seen such a senseless and horrible loss of life and property at one moment in time. I am hoping that this book will also speak to others who have never been able to break the bondage of fear in their lives, regardless of the source of their struggles.
I have attempted to give some perspective to what has happened, while assuring the reader that we have every reason to be filled with hope for the future. There is no reason to live in fear, for the one true God of all time and eternity is still in control. This is a time for great faith, but faith without any concrete understanding can be an extremely abstract concept for some to grasp when their emotions are supercharged with anxiety and fear. It can be much easier to go through difficult times if you have some idea of what is going on and where God is in it.
Therefore, I have tried to answer the following questions in a concrete manner to help dispel fears you may have about not knowing how this could have happened:
- Was this God’s judgment on America?
- Why did God allow this to happen?
- How will our leaders know what to do now?
- How do we live in victory with terrorism hanging over our heads?
- What is God going to do to the terrorists?
- What can we do about the biological warfare that may come?
- How can life go on as usual when we might die tomorrow?
- What can I do to encourage others?
- How should I pray?
Big list? Well, we have a big God and I believe He would say something like this:
“Fear not, America, for I am with you. I know exactly where every player is on the face of this earth. If you will cooperate with me, you will become a part of one of my Christians’ finest hours. You were born for such a time as this. The fields are ripe and ready for harvest, and many workers are needed to help them come into my Kingdom. Look to me, seek my face and my will, do what I say, and you will know victory at every turn. Do you trust me? Then get ready. If you don’t fully trust me yet, then go back to my promises in my Word and read them over and over until you are ready. I’ll be waiting for you."
